Man dead, two hurt after shooting on Hunt Ave in Roanoke

Authorities said the man was pronounced dead at the scene

ROANOKE, Va. – One man is dead, and two others are hurt following a shooting in Northwest Roanoke early Thursday morning, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

At about 2:10 a.m., Roanoke Police were called to the 800 block of Hunt Avenue Northwest for the report of a person who had been shot.

Upon arrival, they found a man with non-life-threatening injuries outside of a residence in the area.

After further investigation, officers learned that two additional victims had been hurt in this shooting, one with non-life-threatening injuries and another with critical injuries.

Authorities said Roanoke Fire-EMS transported the two men with less severe injuries to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The other man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Roanoke Police.

Investigators believe that this was an isolated incident between the involved parties.

We’re told several individuals who were at the scene at the time of the incident have been brought in for questioning. No arrests have been made at this time, and additional suspects are not being sought, authorities said.

This remains an ongoing homicide investigation.
