Case for man charged in Clifton Forge officer-involved shooting certified to Grand Jury

The case for a man who was arrested and charged in connection with an officer-involved shooting at a Family Dollar/Dollar Tree in Clifton Forge on Dec. 8 was sent to a Grand Jury.

As we’ve previously reported, 24-year-old Micah Allen Godfrey was charged with malicious wounding after he allegedly tried to attack an officer with a knife, and was shot several times.

Godfrey was flown to Roanoke Memorial, where he was treated for life-threatening injuries, authorities said. The officer involved in the incident was not injured, according to Virginia State Police.
