Man arrested in Ohio in connection with Pulaski gas station shooting

PULASKI, Va. – A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death of a 40-year-old man at a Pulaski gas station back in May, according to the Pulaski Police Department.

We’re told Brandon Lee Mattox was arrested in Columbus, Ohio and is facing a second-degree murder charge in relation to the incident.

As we’ve reported previously, on May 24, officers were dispatched to Speedway at 640 E. Main Street in reference to a man who had been shot, and a suspect who had left the scene.

Upon arrival, Pulaski Police found a man, later identified as 40-year-old Howard Laron Love, of Pulaski, in the parking lot with a single gunshot wound. He was transported to LewisGale Pulaski Hospital in critical condition and later died as a result of his injuries, according to police.

Authorities said Mattox is being held at the Fairfield County Jail in Ohio.
