Two arrested in Rocky Mount following armed robbery

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – Two were arrested on Thursday following a robbery that led to a pursuit in Rocky Mount, authorities said.

Mark Moore, the Assistant Town Manager of Rocky Mount said two men approached a victim and robbed them at gunpoint. The victim gave a detailed description of the two suspects, and the Rocky Mount Police Department was quickly able to identify the two.

Town officials said the officers found the vehicle in which the two suspects were traveling in and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspects refused to stop and officers initiated a pursuit. The pursuit ended with the suspects crashing their vehicle on the Diamond Avenue extension.

Authorities said the two suspects fled on foot, but one was quickly apprehended. The second suspect was arrested only a few minutes later.
