Building evacuated following high carbon monoxide readings in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. – A building in Roanoke was evacuated due to elevated levels of carbon monoxide, Roanoke Fire & EMS said.

Roanoke Fire & EMS said they arrived to a building on the 200 block of Jefferson Street Southeast after alarms showed heightened carbon monoxide levels in the building. Everyone in the building was evaluated and one person was treated on scene.

The building was ventilated and crews cleared the scene. Roanoke Fire & EMS did not say what caused the high readings of carbon monoxide. We will update you with more information as it becomes available.
