Gov. Youngkin issues flag order in honor of National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day

The flags will be lowered at sunrise on Thursday and remain at half-staff until sunset

Governor Glenn Youngkin has issued a flag order in the Commonwealth of Virginia in honor of National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day.

The governor emphasized that this day serves as a solemn opportunity to honor the lives lost to fentanyl poisoning, support the families affected, and acknowledge the profound impact this crisis continues to have on our communities.

He also commended the tireless efforts of those dedicated to raising awareness, advancing education and implementing prevention initiatives across Virginia and the nation.

Flags will be lowered to half-staff at sunrise on Thursday, Aug. 21, and will remain so until sunset.
