Crews respond to Bedford house fire; no injuries reported

The fire happened just before midnight on Pecks Road

BEDFORD, Va. – No one was hurt after a house fire broke out in Bedford just before midnight, according to the Bedford Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to the 2600 block of Pecks Road, where they found flames coming from three sides of a single-story home. Fortunately, officials said the homeowners and their dog had already made it out safely before firefighters arrived.

Crews spent about four hours at the scene working to put out the fire. The Bedford County Fire Marshal’s Office is now investigating what caused the fire.
