Virginia sees 2,544 new coronavirus cases, now reporting 213,331 statewide

There are now 3,912 deaths from the coronavirus in Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. – As of November 20, Virginia is now reporting 213,331 cases of the coronavirus across the commonwealth since March.

Friday’s total of 213,331 cases marks an increase from Thursday’s total of 210,787 cases.

Here is a breakdown of the 2,544 new coronavirus cases:

  • 257 new cases in Fairfax County
  • 166 new cases in Prince William County
  • 116 new cases in Roanoke County
  • 103 new cases in Loudoun County
  • 102 new cases in Virginia Beach
  • 100 new cases in Roanoke
  • 95 new cases in Henrico County
  • 88 new cases in Chesterfield County
  • 70 new cases in Chesapeake
  • 59 new cases in Arlington County
  • 56 new cases in Richmond
  • 54 new cases in Bedford County
  • 51 new cases in Lynchburg
  • 49 new cases in Hanover County
  • 38 new cases in Rockingham County
  • 37 new cases in Frederick County
  • 36 new cases in Henry County and Campbell County
  • 35 new cases in Spotsylvania County

  • 2 new cases in Petersburg, Covington, Greene County, Essex County, Charlotte County, Lunenburg County, Fairfax, Fredericksburg, Bland County, Bath County, Falls Church, Charles City County, Cumberland County and Emporia
  • 1 new case in Nottoway County, Buckingham County, Poquoson, Manassas Park, Brunswick County, Northumberland County, Northampton County, Lancaster County and King and Queen County

As of Friday, the Virginia Dept. of Health reports there have been 3,439,600 total testing encounters.

The term “testing encounters” includes individuals who have been tested more than once due to their profession, high-risk status or need for a negative result to return to work. The health department started using this metric on May 1. To learn more, click here.
