Two dead, including suspect, after shooting in Cave Spring

ROANOKE, Va. - UPDATE

Police say that the suspect and a male victim are dead after a shooting in Cave Spring on Tuesday night.

A woman was shot and taken to the hospital, according to authorities. Her condition is unknown. 

Authorities believe the suspect lived on the street where the incident took place. 

A SWAT team was called in to secure the home where they found the suspect dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police are not searching for any additional suspects.  

Amy Whittaker, Roanoke County Police spokesperson, said on Wednesday, "Investigators still have a great deal of work to do to piece together what happened."

Police say they are investigating a shooting in the Cave Spring area of Roanoke County on Tuesday night. 

Authorities say the shooting happened on Tuesday night around 7:30 p.m. in the 5200 block of Eden Avenue off Starkey Road.

Police say they do not believe there is any danger to the public at this time, but they are still investigating.
