Virginia Tech reopens quarterback competition

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10 SPORTS) - Spring practice for Virginia Tech has just begun and like last year, the Hokies enter practices with yet another quarterback competition. With Jerod Evans leaving for the NFL, Coach Fuente says Josh Jackson, AJ Bush, and Hendon Hooker will take the majority of reps this spring.

"Those three guys will get the lions share of the work. I can't remember exactly starting out at five guys last year in the very first day, but we will probably center it more on those guys getting the lion share of it, not that the other guys won't get any," explained head coach Justin Fuente.

Hokies offensive coordinator Brad Cornelson added, "just like we talked about last year, it'll be day to day it's every drill, every throw, every read, every meeting is evaluated and that goes into it so it will be an ongoing process every single day."

Virginia Tech fans will get a look at all three starting candidates April 22nd in the Spring Game.
