Galax edges George Wythe for Region 1C title The Maroon Tide moves to 9-4
WYTHEVILLE, Va. – Galax outlasted Mountain Empire rival George Wythe, 17-14 to win the Region 1C title in Wytheville. It’s the Maroon Tide’s second win over the Maroons this season.
Galax now heads into the Class 1 state semifinals where they will travel to Honaker.
