The Orange, a top program for four decades under Jim Boeheim, once again showed they're just as dangerous as an NCAA Tournament afterthought. Now they're heading to Jim Boeheim's 20th Sweet 16, thanks to his 6-foot-6, sweet-shooting son. They have advanced to the Sweet 16 each time they’ve been given a double-digit seeding, reaching the Final Four as a 10 in 2016 and the Sweet 16 as an 11 in 2018.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three giant otter pups made their much-anticipated public debut at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. The first few months after birth are a critical time for vulnerable otter pups, so staff have been monitoring the family behind the scenes. Buddy is blind and the most genetically-valuable animal of the Giant Otter Species Survival Plan in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. McTurk decided to send Buddy to Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens where he joined the SSP to be matched up with a potential mate. (AP Photo/Damian Dovarganes, File)SACRAMENTO, Calif. – California will begin setting aside 40% of all vaccine doses for the state’s most vulnerable neighborhoods in an effort to inoculate people most at risk from the coronavirus and get the state’s economy open more quickly. The doses will be spread out among 400 ZIP codes with about 8 million people eligible for shots. The areas are considered most vulnerable based on metrics such as household income, education level, housing status and access to transportation. Once the state gives out 4 million doses in those neighborhoods, it will revise the metrics for getting into the even less restrictive orange and yellow tiers. Yet community health clinics focused on serving low-income and vulnerable Californians say they haven't been getting enough doses.

NEW YORK – A German shepherd that was the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in a dog in the United States has died in New York. The Staten Island family that owned Buddy tells National Geographic that the 7-year-old shepherd developed breathing problems in mid-April after a family member had been sick with COVID-19. A veterinarian tested Buddy in May and found him positive for the virus. The dog was euthanized on July 11 after his health had severely declined. It’s unknown if the coronavirus played a role in his illness.

Buddy, the cockatoo was once a rescue, but now is a permanent resident at the Danville Area Humane Society. His official owner is shelter manager April Hogan, whos been with Danville Area Humane Society for 26 years. This is the Danville Area Humane Societys 40th year caring for animals, and Buddy certainly has helped bring awareness about the centers mission.

- A woman and two 17-year-old girls have been charged with animal cruelty after authorities said the hind legs of a paralyzed dachshund were "sawed off." The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office tells reporters that a 50-year-old Slidell woman, her daughter and the daughter's friend were arrested Monday. A sheriff's statement says the wounded dachshund, since named Buddy, was found in a trailer park and brought to a veterinarian, who contacted authorities. Deputies say the woman and her daughter failed to get Buddy medical care after reporting in February that he had been shot and paralyzed. The girl's friend is accused of abandoning the dog.

Sutton Ballard, age 2, is an adorable boy who was also born with Down syndrome. He's the apple of his parents Caleb and Katie Ballard's eye. Though he's a child with Down syndrome, they describe him with one word. "We don't treat him any different from any other child," Caleb said. Both are now dedicating time to raise awareness and tell others about the joy that comes with having a child with Down syndrome.

This man wasn't supposed to live past his first birthday. His parents were told he wouldnt make it past the age of one. Now that he's live 65 amazing years, his family wanted to mark the occasion with a photo shoot. Buddy's parents of course did not do that and brought him home to live with his siblings. Buddys niece also invited a local toddler, 2-year-old Sutton, who also has Down syndrome, to join Buddy in the pictures.

LYNCHBURG, Va. - A man is facing a series of charges after authorities say he crashed into a Lynchburg business Friday morning. Authorities say officers responded to Buddy's Home Furnishings around 8:30 a.m. to investigate a report of a gray Toyota Tacoma that crashed into the building. Buddy's Home Furnishings was reportedly open at the time, but no one was hurt in the incident, according to police. Officers say Day was found inside the business and was taken into custody. He was charged with DUI-D, possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, property damage and urinating in public.
