In the year since Amherst County installed license plate reader cameras along Amherst Highway, deputies say the technology has already produced a string of concrete results: a missing person located, a drug recovery and an out-of-state fugitive arrested.

Martinsville Police announced they’re cutting back on the number of Flock Cameras around the city due to funding. The cameras are station around the city and take pictures of the backs of passing cars to aid police in locating missing or wanted people.
