His name is Tenley and the five-month-old lab is in training to make a difference as a Saint Francis service dog. “He’s doing good, he’s doing good for five months old,” said WSLS General Manager Jaimie Leon. Leon got the idea to train a service dog after being introduced to Saint Francis’ work. “Everybody here is doing really good, because they’re also containing their excitement when they see him walk by, trying to help him out in that training process,” said Leon. Tenley has many more months of training ahead, but there’s a bright future ahead.

Focus on healthy foodsStudy participants were asked to cut back on refined carbohydrates; sugar; fatty or processed meats; and soft drinks. Highly processed foods have been shown to increase inflammation, which is a risk factor for depression, Francis said. Growing research basePast research has shown an association between highly processed foods and an increased risk of depression, while consuming a healthy diet such as the Mediterranean diet has been linked to a reduced risk of depression. At the end of three months, 32% of those following a healthy diet no longer met the criteria for depression.

"We have fallen into the culture of adjectives and adverbs, and we have forgotten the strength of nouns," he said. The term "Christian" is strong and authentic enough as it is, without the need for adjectives, he said. He's also active on Twitter, and even tweeted out a reminder on Wednesday to "call people by their name, as the Lord does with us, and to give up using adjectives."
