WSLS 10 and Habitat for Humanity dedicated the 10th Home for Good on a chilly morning in southeast Roanoke.

His name is Tenley and the five-month-old lab is in training to make a difference as a Saint Francis service dog. “He’s doing good, he’s doing good for five months old,” said WSLS General Manager Jaimie Leon. Leon got the idea to train a service dog after being introduced to Saint Francis’ work. “Everybody here is doing really good, because they’re also containing their excitement when they see him walk by, trying to help him out in that training process,” said Leon. Tenley has many more months of training ahead, but there’s a bright future ahead.

ROANOKE, Va. – Thanks to your donations WSLS 10 helping the hard-working doctors and nurses, law enforcement officers and other frontline employees in our communities, as well as local restaurants that are struggling. The money we’ve received as part of our Food For Frontline campaign will go to buying meals from area restaurants that will be delivered to different groups of frontline workers. Serve: We will then partner with local restaurants to order meals that will be distributed to those on the frontline. Our hope is this partnership will assist local restaurants and their staff. Meals for the frontline workers will be individually packaged.

Smiles, cheers, and well wishes greeted the Ayamba family in Roanoke as 14 family members stood proudly on their new front porch. WSLS 10 partnered with Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley on the station's fifth project. "We are grateful for our partnership with Habitat for Humanity, our generous corporate sponsors, and our wonderful volunteers." This Habitat project was the largest build ever, featuring seven bedrooms. ROANOKE, Va. - This year's "Home for Good - The Apostles Build" project is inching closer to completion. On Thursday, WSLS 10 teamed up with The Journey FM to continue construction at the home site in Roanoke. "We're here for the community," said Jaimie Leon, WSLS general manager. WSLS 10 and The Journey are both media partners for this year's Habitat for Humanity project, which is an especially perfect fit for The Journey. This year's "Home for Good - The Apostles Build" could not happen without the support of generous community partners and local churches.
