Hokies win game two to even series.

It was five years ago to the day that John Szefc was announced as Virginia Tech’s next head baseball coach. And what a ride it’s been unfolding all the way to this weekend in the Super Regionals, where the Hokies are one of the final 16 teams in the country left playing baseball.

The Hokies defeated the Columbia Lions 7-2 in the Blacksburg Regional Final.

The Hokies and Raiders combine for 24 runs in a 4 hour-plus slugfest.

Hokies had a program record of eight ACC all-conference honorees.

The Cavaliers allowed one earned run, no walks and tallied 5 strikeouts as a team.
