A warm start to the weekend across Southwest and Central Virginia is expected to shift to rainy and potentially stormy weather by Sunday, according to 10 News meteorologist Parker Beasley. Temperatures will soar above average Saturday before rain and a chance of severe storms return Sunday.

Flash floods can happen at any time, making them unpredictable and hard to prepare for. Even the name “flash flood” implies that they can appear out of nowhere and cause all kinds of damage.
