Queen Elizabeth II traveled to her official residence in Scotland on Monday to open a week of traditional events, starting with an ancient ceremony at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Tradition dictates that she returns them, entrusting their safekeeping to the city's elected officials. The Earl and Countess of Wessex yesterday attended the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, where the Duke of Edinburgh Award logo featured on McLaren Formula 1 cars for the first time. It is hoped that Bristol-born driver Lando Norris will help inspire young people to be the best they can be. Since his father’s death in April, Prince Edward, who is a trustee of the award scheme, has helped give the brand a push, taking an increasingly active role in raising awareness. The palace said the 99-year-old husband of Queen Elizabeth II underwent a successful procedure for a pre-existing heart condition at St Bartholomew’s Hospital on Wednesday. Philip was admitted to the private London hospital on Feb. 16, where he was treated for an infection.

VDOT announces Lynchburg District employee tests positive for the coronavirus
LYNCHBURG, Va. – A person working in VDOT’s Lynchburg District has been diagnosed with the coronavirus. The Lynchburg District contains Amherst, Appomattox, Buckingham, Campbell, Charlotte, Cumberland, Halifax, Nelson, Pittsylvania and Prince Edward counties, as well as Danville and Lynchburg. Those who worked with this person have been notified, and any facilities impacted were immediately closed for cleaning and disinfecting according to CDC guidelines, according to Paula Jones with VDOT. Those facilities will reopen only when all protocols are completed.
