Nearly 200 people packed the Grandin Theatre Thursday night for “Rise Up: Stories of Roanoke Resilience,” an event highlighting personal stories of hardship, healing and perseverance from Roanoke City teens, community members and local leaders.

The Roanoke Prevention Alliance is inviting the community to come together for a night of storytelling, connection and resilience Thursday night.

An animated series of shorts presenting the concepts of race and social justice to young viewers is coming to Disney Junior.
