Missing 84-year-old woman found dead in Halifax County

Deputies say 84-year-old Mary Ann Stanley was found dead on a farm across from her house on Saturday. According to the Sheriffโs Office, about 60-70 people have been searching for her. Her body is being sent to the medical examiner for a cause of death, according to the Sheriffโs Office. Jennifer Stanley's 2-year-old daughter was killed on a rural road in Rockbridge County. They were riding with a friend to lunch when they crashed off Route 251 in Rockbridge County. Stanley says her daughter would be proud of what she is doing and says she's the only thing keeping her going. A VDOT spokesperson sent the following response about Route 251 and the changes they made in May 2019.
