Multiple residents have been displaced, and several animals were killed as a result of a mobile home fire that occurred in Thaxton on Saturday, Stewartsville-Chamblissburg Volunteer Fire Department said.

Firefighters from several local departments responded early Wednesday morning to a residential fire on Cedar Cove Street.

One person was displaced following a mobile home fire in Bedford County, the Stewartsville-Chamblissburg Volunteer Fire Department said.

Crews from the Stewartsville-Chamblissburg Fire Department and Hardy Volunteer Fire Company responded along with other local organizations to a crash that left five hospitalized around 8:58 a.m. Sunday morning in Hardy, officials said.
