Coronavirus latest news: CDC investigates reports of heart inflammation in vaccinated teens

Vaccines ‘highly effective’ against Indian variant Exclusive: Millions 'unwittingly tracked' by phone after vaccination Cummings: UK could have avoided lockdowns Shapps: green list for foreign holidays to be expanded soon Reports of heart inflammation in young vaccine recipients A US advisory group has called for more investigation into reports that some teenagers and young adults who received Covid vaccines experienced heart inflammation. The US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended further study of the rare condition. The CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunisation Practices looked into reports that a few young recipients - predominantly male, adolescents and young adults - developed myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle. The condition often goes without complications and can be caused by a variety of viruses. Dr Amesh Adalja, senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Centre for Health Security, said vaccines are known to cause myocarditis and it would be important to monitor to see if it is causally related to the vaccine. The CDC said the cases typically occurred within four days after receiving the mRNA vaccines. It did not specify which vaccines. The United States has given emergency authorisation to two mRNA vaccines, from Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech. Follow the latest updates below.

The Snyder Cut was a gamble for Warner Bros., but it may not have a big payoff for HBO Max

Justice League Warner Bros. PicturesThe hotly anticipated four-hour-long director's cut of "Justice League" arrived Thursday on HBO Max. Assembled from hours of unused footage and cut together with newly filmed scenes, the Snyder Cut is an anomaly in the entertainment industry. What may help is that HBO Max has several high-profile releases coming to its platform in March and early April. Each will spend about a month on HBO Max before heading to video on demand for a rental fee. So, Warner Bros. would need to recast the role if they wanted to bring Cyborg back into the fold for a team-up flick.

Film, TV maker Joss Whedon faces 'Buffy' actor abuse claims

Whedon, the prominent film and TV creator who faced a claim of abusive behavior on the set of Justice League, drew criticism Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, from actors who worked with him on Buffy the Vampire Slayer including Gellar and Carpenter. Whedon didnt immediately respond to a request for comment. “While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don’t want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon,” Gellar wrote. The company said then that “remedial action” had been taken, but did not go into specifics. Last month his character Cyborg was removed from appearing in the upcoming “Flash” film, which Carpenter said was the last straw for her.

Zack Snyder's 'Justice League' will debut March 18 on HBO Max

The long-awaited "Snyder Cut" of "Justice League" will arrive on HBO Max on March 18. When "Justice League" was released in 2017, it was marred by harsh critical reviews. The telecommunications company, which owns WarnerMedia, reported that HBO and HBO Max now have a combined 41.5 million domestic subscribers, up 20% from 34.6 million a year prior. Of the 37.7 million HBO Max-eligible subscribers, 30 million came from wholesalers and 6.8 million were through retail channels. This means that nearly half of HBO subscribers who were eligible to get HBO Max have not signed up yet.

(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)LOS ANGELES Actor Ray Fisher says director Joss Whedon's behavior was abusive on the set of the 2017 film Justice League.Joss Wheadons on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable, Fisher, who played the young superhero Cyborg in the DC Comics film, tweeted Wednesday. At the time of his departure, Warner Bros. said Snyder was stepping away to be with his family following the death of his 20-year-old daughter. In May, Warner Bros. announced that Snyder's long director's cut of Justice League would appear next year on the streaming service HBO Max, something fans had lobbied for since the film's original release with the hashtag ReleaseTheSnyderCut.

Release 'The Snyder Cut'? Why Warner Bros. won't give 'Justice League' superfans what they want

Source: Justice LeagueIn 2017 Warner Bros. released its big DC Comics superhero team-up movie, Justice League, to battle Disney Marvel Studios' Avengers franchise. "Justice League" still has a grip on a portion of the DC fan base, but that doesn't mean Warner Bros. will release Snyder's version of the film. Warner Bros. wanted "Justice League" to have more humor, like the films from Marvel's Cinematic Universe, and who better to handle that than Whedon who directed two Marvel films? Despite the fan demand for the film, it's unlikely that Warner Bros. will release Snyder's version of the film. Warner Bros. focused on the futureThere are many good reasons why Justice League's fans may not get the perceived justice they want.
