Eight months after a living liver transplant, Rhonda Whaling says she is feeling more like herself again — with more energy, a brighter outlook and a new appreciation for the donor who made it possible. Both women said they hope their experience encourages others to learn about organ donation and consider signing up.

Four coworkers at LewisGale Montgomery came together Friday to spread the word about organ donation in honor of National Donate Life Blue and Green Day. Two of them are donors. Two are transplant recipients. Each said donation changed their life for the better.

A local woman felt called to donate her kidney, providing a local evangelist a second chance at life. Now she hopes to raise awareness about the gift of becoming a living donor.
