ROANOKE, Va. – March has started off very nicely (aside from the increase in pollen).
Thursday continues that trend, though we’ll be cooler near/north of I-64.
A front to our north will press southward later in the day and into Friday, helping to generate some more wind as well. Gusts of 20-30 mph will be possible Thursday afternoon.
Come Friday, the wind turns more out of the east. This will put our high temperatures in the 50s after starting in the 30s early in the morning.
Our front drifts back to the north by the weekend, reinforcing that warm, southwest breeze we’ve felt in recent days.
Highs Saturday reach the 65-70° range.
Sunday and Monday’s high temperatures will be well into the 70s - challenging record highs in parts of the region. Rain returns to the area late Monday into early Tuesday before cooler weather returns.
