ROANOKE, Va. – Friday will shape up nicely with temperatures in the 50s and 60s with mostly sunny skies, but we begin to see a shift in pattern this weekend and into next week.
Conditions shift this weekend, with temperatures in the 40s Saturday and 50s Sunday. By the time we get into next week, we’ll be back in the 40s and 30s for an extended period of time.
The big thing we’re monitoring is the chance for widespread winter weather on Tuesday. Right now, models are in general consensus that we will have some form of precipitation all day, with snow and a wintry mix in the morning before shifting to a wintry mix and rain in the latter half of the day.
Snow and ice totals are still very much up in the air, with massive discrepancies. How much snow we get will be largely dependent on the strength of the cold air wedge we will have in place.
