Investigation continues into blackmail case

SALEM, Va. – A former student at North Carolina A&T university is facing charges after he allegedly blackmailed a Salem teenager into sending him nude pictures.
Royce Andrew Reddix, 18, was arrested by A&T police on October 15. He has been charged with extortion and several counts of first-degree sexual exploitation.
The charges stem from a joint investigation between North Carolina authorities and the Salem Police Department.
Reddix allegedly coerced the 12-year old Salem girl to send nude pictures of herself through a cellphone app.
The charges were filed in Wake County, North Carolina. The Salem Police Department has not filed any charges at this time, but the investigation is still active.
