What's News Today: November 16, 2017

Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today

A Congressional Medal of Honor recipient will speak today at Virginia Tech.  Former U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Clinton Romesha received the the medal for his actions in Afghanistan.  He will speak at 3:30 this afternoon in Burruss Auditorium.  

Carilion Clinic holds a viewing of the film Extremis.  It's a documentary that follows doctors, families and patients as end-of-life decisions are made and the importance of advanced care planning.  A panel discussion follows.  The documentary will be shown at 3 p.m. at the Grandin Theatre.

Averett University holds a forum today on policing in the 21st century and community partnerships.  Members of the Averett faculty, police and community partners will speak.  The discussion begins tonight at 6 p.m. in Blount Chapel.

Starting today, First Team Subaru will "Share the Love."  For every car sold or leased between now and January 2nd, it will donate $250 to four national charities.  The local charity receiving a donation is the Children's Miracle Network and Carilion Children's Hospital.
