Trash can, dumpster fires may have been intentionally set in downtown Roanoke

Fires set in downtown area, around Patterson Avenue

ROANOKE, Va. – Roanoke Fire-EMS says it's responding to numerous trash can fires officials believe were intentionally set in the downtown Roanoke Area and the area of Patterson Avenue Southwest.

According to Roanoke Fire-EMS spokeswoman Tiffany Bradbury, four fires were set Sunday evening and may be related:

- 5:08 p.m.: Dumpster on Crystal Spring Avenue 

- 7:06 p.m.: Three trash cans on Church Avenue/Jefferson Street SW

- 7:27 p.m.: Dumpster on Market Street 

- 7:30 p.m.: Three trash cans on Salem Avenue behind the Taubman Museum 

If you see anything suspicious, you're asked to call the Roanoke Police Department.
