Lumber from tractor-trailer accident closes Roanoke County road for several hours

Authorities say lumber that fell off a tractor-trailer crash during a crash Thursday morning will take several hours to clean up, leaving the road closed for hours.

The crash happened on I-81N, but lumber fell off the interstate onto Glenvar Heights Boulevard below.

According to Roanoke Police, Glenvar Heights Boulevard will be closed for about six to seven hours while crews clean up the debris. Cars will be detoured onto Dan Robin Road.

A tractor-trailer accident on I-81 in Roanoke County is causing delays, according to the Virginia Dept. of Transportation.

Authorities say the crash is around mile marker 133. Route 927 North at US-11 is blocked due to debris from this accident.

As of 7 a.m., the northbound left shoulder and left lane are closed.
