Wakeboarding accident reportedly led to death near Smith Mountain Lake Franklin Co. official says accident happened near Belle Isle Road

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – A Franklin County official has confirmed that someone died near Smith Mountain Lake on Saturday.
The county’s public safety director, Billy Ferguson, said that the fatality happened near the area of Belle Isle Road and believes it was a wakeboarding accident.
The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries’ game warden is handling investigation.
