75-year-old woman charged in Pittsylvania County shooting

HENRY COUNTY Va. – Authorities arrested a woman they believe shot someone Thursday morning.

At 8:35 a.m., members of the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1800 block of Ringgold Road for a reported shooting.

Investigators arrived and charged Peggy Brewer, 75, with malicious wounding and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Both she and the victim were taken by ambulance to be treated at a hospital.

After being treated and released from the hospital, Brewer was taken into custody and is now at the Pittsylvania County Jail.

Her victim was also treated and released from the hospital.
