Man arrested, charged after deputies seize two homemade explosives in Campbell County

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – A man has been charged after two homemade explosive devices were seized in Campbell County, according to the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.

This comes after a search warrant was executed in the 7000 BLK of Village Hwy on Friday, Jan. 28. Authorities say two homemade explosive devices were found at the scene.

In connection to the incident, 36-year-old Benjamin Branford Saunders, of Concord, was arrested and has been charged with possession or transportation of firearms and possession, use, ext of firebombs or explosive materials or devices.

The Virginia State Police Bomb Squad disposed of both of the devices that were seized in the search, according to deputies.
