Roanoke man sentenced to serve 30 years in connection to deadly 2020 Christmas Day shooting

Police said Dixon also shot two women on Easter weekend in 2021

ROANOKE, Va. – A Roanoke man has been sentenced to serve 30 years in prison for the death of a 26-year-old woman on Christmas Day in 2020.

On March 31, Tashaun Dixon plead no contest to first-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of murder regarding the death of Brianna Stevens.

Officers found her lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound outside a house in the 3400 block of Bennett Drive in Northwest Roanoke at around 8 a.m. on Christmas Day 2020.

Dixon is set to serve 30 years in prison.

Previously, Dixon was also charged with two counts of malicious wounding and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, but those charges were dropped on Tuesday.

Police said Dixon also shot two women on Easter weekend in 2021 in Northwest Roanoke.
