Staff at the Virginia Department of Treasury Unclaimed Property Division are taking your calls to do a free, safe check to see if you have any misplaced money or valuables.
Statistically, one in four Virginians has unclaimed property.
“Keep in mind that not only could the unclaimed property be in your name, it could be in an old business that you once had or a current business that you once had or for a deceased loved one that you handle their estate,” Diana Shaban with the treasury department said.
