Man sentenced in Appomattox Co. burnt-out SUV murder case

APPOMATTOX CO., Va. – One of the men charged after human remains were discovered inside a charred SUV in 2020 has been sentenced, according to court records.

As we previously reported, human remains were found inside a burnt-out vehicle near the intersection of Forbes Road and State Park Road in the Appomattox-Buckingham State Forest in October 2020.
Enrico Moss was arrested and charged around a week after the remains were found.
He faces the following charges, according to court documents:
1st-degree murder
Two counts of abduction with intent to extort money or for immoral purpose
Two counts of arson of personal property greater than or equal to $1,000
Two counts of concealing a dead body
Destruction of property greater than or equal to $1,000
On Thursday, August 17, 2023, Moss was sentenced to 125 years, with 65 years suspended.
Records show he will also be on probation when he’s released.
