72-year-old woman dies in Franklin County crash

Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal crash in Franklin County.
The incident occurred on Thursday, Sept. 25, shortly before 2 p.m. on Route 834.
Authorities said 72-year-old Kathy Jean Turman, of Glade Hill, was driving north in a 2006 Subaru Legacy when she ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned.
Turman died at the scene, according to Virginia State Police. The crash remains under investigation.
