No injuries reported after vacant house fire in Southeast Roanoke Tuesday

ROANOKE, Va. Update:

The Roanoke Fire Department provided an update to a house fire that occurred in the 1600 block of Dale Avenue Southeast Tuesday afternoon.

According to officials, at 3:41 p.m., crews were dispatched to the reports of a structure fire. When crews arrived, they found a visible fire on the front and side of the residence and the call was upgraded to a working fire.

Due to unsafe structural conditions, firefighters quickly initiated a defensive attack. At 4:18 p.m. the fire was marked under control.

Officials say since the residence was vacant, nobody was displaced and there were no injuries.

The building was safely knocked down after the incident as well as Code Enforcement.

Roanoke Fire Crews are currently on the scene of a working fire in the 1600 block of Dale Ave. Southeast Tuesday afternoon, according to Roanoke Fire and EMS.

Roads are blocked by fire apparatus at this time and the public is asked to find alternate routes if they are traveling through the area.
