Former Roanoke College fitness center director arrested for cocaine, steroid charges

Coach found with found with multiple steroid-related supplies earlier this year

SALEM, Va. – A former Roanoke College employee faces drug-related charges, according to court documents.

On Tuesday, Dec. 12 police arrested and charged David Sampson with possession of cocaine and possession of anabolic steroids, both felony charged.

As 10 News previously reported, Sampson, who was the fitness center director, was found with multiple steroid-related supplies in his office and home earlier this year.

During searches, police found vials labeled as "testosterone enanthate." On a separate search warrant for Sampson's Easton Road house, officers found 55 vials, multiple syringes and other materials related to the use of steroids.

Court documents show the offense occurred on June 22.

Sampson is now out on bail. He is scheduled to be back in court on Jan, 19.
