Man walking to DC to raise awareness about Alzheimer's stops in Danville

William Glass is walking from Atlanta to DC

DANVILLE, Va. – A man walking from Atlanta to Washington, DC in 30 days is back on his way after stopping in Danville.

William Glass is trying to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease in hopes of helping find a cure for it.

This is his second walk.

In 2013, he walked from Chicago to Atlanta.

His mother has Alzheimer's disease.

He said his walks are as much in honor of her as they are of the people who help care for Alzheimer's patients, who he said are on the front line of the fight to end Alzheimer's.

When he gets to DC, he hopes to talk with President Donald Trump.

"It's sounding like, more and more, the more noise I make, the more awareness I bring to this disease, the more people that get out and spread the awareness, this may be something that may happen," Glass said. "Even if I don't speak to President Trump, we're going to be heard in Washington by someone."

Glass began his walk on July 5.
