Rockbridge County leaders are moving to sever ties with the Goshen First Aid Crew after an audit found what officials described as financial irregularities within the volunteer rescue organization.

A former executive director for the Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce was indicted on embezzlement charges, according to the chamber.

The Lynchburg Police Department announced Tuesday that after an investigation regarding a possible occurrence of embezzlement involving a city employee, they brought charges against a Lynchburg Fire Dept. employee.

Former Buena Vista Police Chief Richard Hartman was sentenced after facing an embezzlement charge in December 2022.

The former president of Franklin County Baseball, Inc. and his wife were arrested Wednesday on indictments for embezzling funds, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
