Jury deliberations will continue Friday morning in a Lynchburg murder trial. Derek Lewis is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing Tyler Johnson back in November of 2022 at the Iron and Ale restaurant in Lynchburg.

The trial of Derek Lewis commenced with the selection of a jury consisting of two women and 10 men, with no alternates. Lewis faces charges of second-degree murder in the shooting of Tyler Johnson, the owner’s son, at the Iron & Ale restaurant in Lynchburg on Nov. 11, 2022.

A man charged with killing an employee at Lynchburg’s Iron and Ale restaurant has learned his fate.

Iron and Ale will remain closed as staff and family continue to grieve and honor the life of Tyler Johnson.
