Veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and cornerback William Jackson have agreed to sign with the Washington Football Team, according to a person with direct knowledge of the moves. The team now has Fitzpatrick, journeyman-turned-playoff standout Taylor Heinicke and coach Ron Rivera favorite Kyle Allen under contract at quarterback. AdJackson, 28, joins Washington after four seasons with the Bengals during which he recorded three interceptions in 59 games, including 48 starts. He replaces Ronald Darby, who left Washington after one season to sign a $30 million, three-year deal with the Denver Broncos.

Haskins got the start against Seattle essentially by default as the last healthy quarterback on the roster.

Steelers' Roethlisberger active after virus-related absence

The unbeaten Pittsburgh Steelers wound up relatively healthy for their game against the AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals following a brush with the novel coronavirus. Defensive tackle Tyson Alualu is also back after missing a game with a knee injury. Cincinnati is without running back Joe Mixon, whose lingering foot injury is forcing him to miss a third game in a row. Receiver Cooper Kupp, left tackle Andrew Whitworth and running back Darrell Henderson all were active after missing practices with injuries. Jones, Giants hold on to beat Washington for 2nd victory

– The Washington Football Team defeats the Dallas Cowboys with a score of 25-3. The first score of the game took place in the form of a safety as a Dallas fumble by quarterback Andy Dalton lead to a Washington defensive tackle in the Dallas end zone. In the first quarter, Gibson completed a 12-yard rushing touchdown. Then, quarterback Kyle Allen made a 52-yard passing touchdown to wide receiver Terry McLaurin in the second quarter. Near the end of the second quarter, quarterback Kyle Allen completed a 15-yard touchdown pass to tight end Logan Thomas to make the score 22-3.

Smith returns as Goff-led Rams beat Washington to get to 4-1

Washington Football Team loses to Los Angeles Rams 30-10

– The Washington Football Team loses the Los Angeles Rams at halftime by a score of 30-10. Rams Quarterback Jared Goff completed 21 of 30 passes for 309 yards with two touchdowns and 1 interception. The Rams defense took control of the game by completing eight sacks throughout the game. Washington was only able to score one touchdown, which was a 7-yard rush for Quarterback Kyle Allen late in the first quarter. The other score that Washington managed was a successful 48-yard field goal attempt by Kicker Dustin Hopkins.

The Latest: Cowboys edge Giants with field goal on last play

Prescott was playing the Giants in the first visit of his former coach, Jason Garrett, now New York’s offensive coordinator. A week after giving up a franchise-record 307 yards rushing, the Cowboys allowed Devonta Freeman 20 yards on three carries. The Giants extended the lead to 14-3 when Kyler Fackrell returned an interception by Dak Prescott 46 yards for a touchdown. Atlanta cornerback Kendall Sheffield suffered a right ankle injury in the second quarter and was listed as questionable to return. Smith is one injury to Allen away from completing his remarkable comeback to play in an NFL game again.

Jones had been listed as questionable after missing practice throughout the week with a hamstring injury. Washington benches QB Haskins, switches to Allen vs. Rams

QB Alex Smith activated by Washington, cleared for practice

Quarterback Alex Smith was activated off the physically unable to perform list by Washingtons NFL team Sunday, the latest step in a remarkable recovery after his right leg was broken in two places during a game nearly two years ago. The move means that Smith now is allowed to participate in Washingtons padded practices when the team can move to that phase of training camp Tuesday. It could make for an interesting dynamic at QB, where Washington also has Dwayne Haskins, its 2019 first-round draft pick, and free-agent addition Kyle Allen. He hasnt played since November 2018, when his right fibula and tibia broke when Smith was hit during a loss to the Houston Texans. 1 overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft has thrown for 34,068 yards, 193 TDs and 101 INTs.

Redskins chose versatile offensive weapon in Round 3

Ashburn, Va. – The Washington Redskins get a versatile weapon for quarterbacks Dwayne Haskins, Kyle Allen and the offense in Round 3 of the NFL draft. Antonio Gibson of Memphis was used primarily as a wide receiver with 38 receptions for 735 yards (a 19.3 average) with eight touchdowns. but Gibson also got some mid-season reps at running back, logging 33 carries for 369 yards (an 11.2 ypc) with four touchdowns. They were last in the league in points per game and passing yards per game. The Redskins were 31st in the league in total yards per game and 22nd in rushing yards per game in 2019.
