The network has committed to six episodes that will air on consecutive Tuesday nights. Cooper asked him to post the apology on social media, and then met with him Thursday for a three-hour conversation at Cannons business headquarters in Burbank, California. He appears to be someone whos genuine in his desire to make sure people understand his apology, Cooper told The Associated Press. Cooper said that hes confident that Cannon will use his wide-ranging social media presence to talk openly about mistakes, fight for social justice and reject messages of hate. He thanked Cooper and assured the Jewish community that it was just the beginning of his education.
Nick Cannon apologizes to Jewish community for hurtful words
Nick Cannon apologized to the Jewish community late Wednesday for his “hurtful and divisive” words, a day after ViacomCBS severed ties with him for the remarks made on a podcast. The Anti-Defamation league and some Jewish leaders had condemned what they called anti-Semitic theories expressed by Cannon and demanded the apology. Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s associate dean, told The Associated Press that Cannon reached out to him Wednesday and during a 30-minute telephone conversation he apologized to the Jewish community and Cooper asked him to post it on social media. “The danger is that those groups get confused with other self-identified Israelites like (Rabbi) Capers Funnye, who has a congregation in Chicago, and who is very much involved with the Ashkenazim Jewish community. My first words to my brother was, I apologize for the hurt I caused the Jewish Community” Cannon tweeted.

ViacomCBS condemns bigotry of any kind and we categorically denounce all forms of anti-Semitism," the company said in a statement Tuesday. It is terminating its relationship with Cannon, ViacomCBS said. We have spoken with Nick Cannon about an episode of his podcast Cannons Class on YouTube, which promoted hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, ViacomCBS said. As controversy over his podcast began to bubble up Monday, Cannon replied in a Facebook post.
