(Photo by Amy Harris/Invision/AP, File)NEW YORK – The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame said Tuesday that it plans to have a live induction of its 36th class on Oct. 30 in Cleveland — before an actual audience! “We are optimistic and hopeful for the ceremony,” said Greg Harris, president and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. It will be the sixth time the induction ceremony will be held in Cleveland, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. AdHarris said a fall induction ceremony, moved from the spring last year because of COVID, will become permanent.
Jay-Z, Foo Fighters, Tina Turner and The Go-Go's nominated for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Jay-Z, Foo Fighters, Tina Turner and Iron Maiden lead this year's nominees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a female-heavy list of 16 acts that includes for the first time The Go-Go's, Mary J. Blige and Dionne Warwick. There are two newly eligible acts in Jay-Z and Foo Fighters while artists nominated for the first time include Blige, The Go-Go's, Iron Maiden, Warwick and Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. Turner would be inducted for a second time, having gone to the hall as part of Ike & Tina Turner in 1991. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is already in the hall as a member of Nirvana. James Taylor, Jackson Browne set to perform in Roanoke this summer

The two will perform at the Berglund Center on June 23, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.For more than 40 years, Taylor has been performing across the world. A member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, he has sold more than 100 million albums. He’ll be joined by a fellow member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Jackson Browne. In 2015, Browne ranked 37th on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 greatest songwriters of all time.
