2016's Stop 11: Smith Mountain Lake
SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE (WSLS 10) - Stop 11 on the Virginia Proud Weather took Jeff Haniewich to Smith Mountain Lake.
The lake is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year . The celebration began in March and ends in mid-December.
Bill Piatt, the chairman of the 50th anniversary Steering Committee, said plans for the nearly year-long celebration began more than two years ago.
This Saturday at the Smith Mountain Lake Airport is the Wheels and Wings event.
On Friday, Jeff will be in Danville for the first day of the city's Festival in the Park.
