Looking forward to a warm-up
ROANOKE, Va. – Thankfully, the cold isn’t here to stay. As the weekend progresses, temperatures are forecasted to rise. As soon as tomorrow, we’ll start seeing the mercury climb into the 40s. By Tuesday and Wednesday, we should reach the lower 50s for a change, providing a respite from the winter chill.
The weekend looks for the most part dry. Saturday may be a bit brighter than Sunday, but until dinner-time Sunday we look dry. Sunday evening may see a few west-slope snowflakes, so areas towards the NRV and/or Mountain Empire may see a little taste winter. Not a big deal...at all. Both Monday and Tuesday look mostly sunny at this point. A few more clouds may push in by mid-to-late next week. And a couple of showers may be possible on both Wednesday and Friday of next week. But overall, it looks like next week will return to a more typical weather pattern for this time of year.
Across the pond: Storm Ewan
While we enjoy quieter local conditions, it’s a different story for our friends across the Atlantic. Storm Ewan is garnering attention for its intensity, bringing a red weather warning in the UK. This warning indicates significant concern akin to severe storm alerts we’re familiar with stateside. This powerful storm will have no impact whatsoever on our weather here locally.
