Virginia Tech student accused of spying on neighbors sentenced to jail

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - A Virginia Tech student accused of spying on his neighbors by drilling holes in their apartment walls was sentenced to 25 days in jail.

Anuj Parekh was charged with burglary, destruction of property and peeping into an occupied dwelling. His breaking and entering charge was dropped.

This stemmed from an incident back in March at Terrace View Apartments in Blacksburg.

Parekh entered an Alford plea to all charges and was sentenced to five years in jail, with all but 25 days suspended. He also faces more than $2,000 in fines and five years probation.
