Celebrity golf tournament this weekend to benefit children’s cancer

ROANOKE, Va. – ‘Ballyhack Golf Club’ and Life Ring Foundation launches its inaugural ‘Fighting Kids Cancer’ campaign with a celebrity golf tournament.

A few basketball hall-of-famers and legendary Hokies Quarterback Michael Vick are competing.

The money raised will go toward build a pediatric hematology and oncology unit that will be part of the new Carilion Cancer Center.

Many people have to go to a faraway place and have the most important fight for their lives they’re away from their village their family, support system, and it’s really tragic when families can’t do that,” Kelly Woolwine with Life Ring Foundation said.

Leaders are looking to raise $20 million over 5 years.
