Roanoke County Board of Supervisors adopt Oak Grove Center Plan
ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. โ Roanoke County is reimagining the Oak Grove area. The countyโs Board of Supervisors voted to adopt the Oak Grove Center Plan into the countyโs comprehensive plan on Tuesday. The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors voted to adopt the Oak Grove Center Plan into the county's comprehensive plan. Weโre casting a vision out into the oak grove area,โ said Radford. The county is working with Roanoke City on the Oak Grove Center Plan.
Roanoke County leaders want input on Reimagine Oak Grove plan
ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. โ Local leaders in Roanoke City and Roanoke County are teaming up to reinvent the Oak Grove area and they want your input. Roanoke County is holding a public hearing about the Reimagine Oak Grove plan next month. It covers commercial development and housing, improved transportation and access to shops, streetscapes and even walking trails and parks. The ultimate goal is to improve quality of life and attract businesses. Roanoke County leaders are holding a public hearing on the Reimagine Oak Grove plan on February 2.
Lexington city council picks โOak Groveโ as new name for Stonewall Jackson Cemetery
LEXINGTON, Va โ Lexington city leaders have made a final decision on the new name for Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. Thursday night city council choose Oak Grove to be written into an ordinance that the city council will vote on to make it law. Jackson was buried there in 1863, but it was not named after him right away. On April 1, 1949, the cemetery was conveyed to the city by the Lexington Presbyterian Church, according to City Manager Jim Halasz. Council is set to vote on the ordinance at its September 3rd meeting.
