A grassroots fundraising campaign saved H.L. Price Park from auction Thursday morning, as a GoFundMe for the beloved community green space hit its $35,000 goal.

Six months ago, a local Uber driver was attacked while dropping off a passenger in Blacksburg. The incident occurred along Prices Fork when the driver, identified as Earthman, changed lanes and was subsequently followed for nearly a mile by Martin McGraw, who confronted and assaulted him.

The Town of Blacksburg is looking for feedback on the Prices Fork & 460 interchange in hopes of making it more accessible to pedestrians and cyclists.

BLACKSBURG, Va. No one is hurt after a tractor-trailer caught fire Wednesday morning on US-460 in Blacksburg, according to the Blacksburg Police Department. Authorities say the incident happened around 5:36 a.m. at the Prices Fork interchange near Virginia Tech in the eastbound lane when the brakes of the truck, carrying produce, caught fire. The driver was able to pull over to the side of the road and get out safely. When officers arrived, they say the truck was fully engulfed in flames.
